EGG-CITING NEWS AND HORSE RACING FOR CHARITY

Southbourne Lions would like to thank all those in the community who kindly bought tickets for our Giant Easter Egg Raffle. Many thanks also to the following establishments that took part, The Bulls Head – Fishbourne, the Earl of March – Lavant, the Richmond Arms - West Ashling, the Barley Mow – Walderton, the Berkeley Arms – Bosham, the Woodmancote – Woodmancote, the Stags Head- Westbourne, The Travellers Joy, Southbourne, the Southbourne Club and Mamawu restaurant – Southbourne.

As a result of the raffle, Southbourne Lions has added over £400 to their charity funds.  These funds enable us to work with the community, for instance, helping local families, schools, young carers and animal charities.   Funds are also contributed to national charities like the Air Ambulance and International Disaster Relief.

We are also able to support the above good causes as a result of raising funds in March via a Horse Racing evening with supper, when half the betting pot from each race was returned in winnings and half kept back for Lions charity funds (£800). Many thanks are due to the  Havant Lions Club whose members generously donated their time and equipment to run the races which made it an enjoyable fun evening.
