Southbourne Lions were out and about with Santa and his sleigh before Christmas, visiting all our local area bringing much excitement to both children and adults heralded by the bell and carol singing from the Sleigh. Many children were keen to have their photos taken with Santa and he was happy to oblige in return for them agreeing to be good for their parents!

The sun shone for the annual Bank Holiday Emsworth Horticultural Society Show which once again was a great success. Southbourne Lions played their part by providing a magnificent variety of healthy garden plants for sale to the public.

Fifteen Young Carers from Bourne Community College, Southbourne were treated to an afternoon filled with daring adventure, heartfelt moments and lots of laughs provided by this year's Chichester Youth Theatre show, A Boy Called Christmas.

Southbourne Lions are once again raffling giant Easter Eggs to raise funds for charities. Chocolate lovers can enter the raffle at a range of pubs and cafes in the area. Click the ‘More’ button to see a list of venues taking part.

Southbourne Lions once again took part in the annual Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal on Saturday 15th March. With thanks to the Southbourne Farm Shop for allowing us access and our generous community, we collected £133 for this important charity which helps to bring end of life care and support for everyone.

Southbourne Lions arranged an exciting fun day out at the Christian Youth Enterprises (CYE) activities centre at Cobnor to give 14 young carers a chance to spend time with their peers and try new and exciting activities.

Southbourne Lions held their 2025 Charter Dinner and Dance at the Emsworth Sailing on Club on Saturday 14th June. Excellent food and company was enjoyed by guests and other Lions from Chichester, Havant, Bognor and Midhurst.

Southbourne Lions would like to thank all those in our local community who donated both funds and food via the Christmas Sleigh. In spite of the difficult weather conditions just before Christmas, the magnificent sum of £3,416 was collected which will help to support local good causes such as families in need, young carers, guides and scouts.

The Southbourne Lions Sleigh and Santa arrived at the Woodmancote Arms in a flurry of snow amid much excitement. He could not stay too long as he had a lot of areas to visit before Christmas including Hermitage, Southbourne, Nutbourne, Westbourne, and Bosham. Santa and his magnificant twinkling Sleigh brought much musical cheer and excitement to our communities.

Havant Rotary club held the official launch of their giant annual Easter Egg raffles at Portsmouth Football club with club mascot Nelson. Rotary supply the eggs to Southbourne Lions for their egg raffles which are held at 10 locations.

Southbourne Lions are once again offering the chance to win one of ten giant 1.5kg Easter Eggs.

Taking time off from working to raise funds for our local community projects, Southbourne Lions enjoyed a very sociable evening at the end of February.

As a result of the Easter Egg Raffle and Horse Racing Event, Southbourne Lions has added over £1200 to their charity funds. These funds enable us to work with the community, for instance, helping local families, schools, young carers and animal charities.

Southbourne Lions were able to fund a day of fun activities in the half-term break for the Young Carers from Bourne Community College. A lovely day enjoyed by all.
